Happy New Year (and Some Big News)!

Updated: May 7, 2019

Happy New Year!!! I am grateful for a great year behind me and excited about what the new year will bring! Especially now that I have taken a BIG NEW STEP in my career!! After 6 years of acting and 36 speaking roles (plus a few commercials)...I have finally taken the plunge and gotten an AGENT!!! *cue fireworks*

Yes, that's right! Some people are shocked that I have gotten so much work on my own all these years. Well the truth is...God is the best agent and can divinely open doors that I would never have imagined or been able to even knock on for myself! I have been richly blessed and deeply grateful for all the opportunities that He has provided for me these past several years! But ya know, sometimes it's helpful to have someone on this side of heaven helping you out, too, and I have been debating the agent issue for years.

There isn't an abundance of Christian agents. At least not that I've heard of. And I was concerned about signing with a secular agent that wouldn't understand/respect my standards, or would submit me for stuff I wasn't interested in, or wouldn't have access to the faith based films (which is what I really want to do). I didn't know where to look or what to do, and never felt quite "right" about pursing an agent. But it's been pressing on my mind. As usual, when I get caught up thinking "how do *I* accomplish this?", it's like God cracks His celestial knuckles, waves His hand, and says, "Hold on, kid. I've got this." (Actually, He probably sighs with a roll of His eyes and a slight smile that says "I love you, but will you never learn?") Anyway, point being, when I wrestle with figuring out how to accomplish something in my own strength, God shows up in HIS timing and drops the solution in my lap. Jean Wenger, founder and agent at Treasure Coast Talent, sent me a friend request on Facebook a few weeks ago. I accepted, and checked out the page for her agency. I emailed her with a few questions, which led to 50 minutes of delightful conversation on the phone, and I knew this was exactly what I had been waiting and hoping for. Jean is a wonderful Christian woman and we hit it off right away! She will respect my values, and through her connections will be able to get me access to faith based films that I couldn't access on my own!

I am so excited about this big new step in my career that has been a long time coming, and I can't wait to see what exciting adventures 2019 will hold!

I'm heading into the new year with new headshots as well! Many thanks to my talented friend Ivy Schexnayder for taking these a few weeks ago!
